Privacy Policy
Last updated August 3, 2026
This policy describes how The Place for Life LLC ("we") handles information for The Place for Life OS, our software for independent life insurance agents. It covers two different groups of people, and the difference matters, so we treat them separately below.
Who the information is about
Agents are our customers — the people who subscribe to the software. When you create an account we collect your name, business name, email address, mobile number, National Producer Number, the states you are licensed in, and your payment details.
Consumers are the people an agent works with. Agents store contact and insurance information about their own clients and prospects in the software. We process that information on the agent's behalf, as their service provider. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to market anything to those consumers on our own account.
Payment information
We do not collect, transmit or store card numbers. Payments are processed by Stripe, and card details are entered on Stripe's own systems. We receive only a token, the last four digits, and the card brand and expiry so we can show you which card is on file.
Text messages
If you give consent when creating your account, we text your mobile number one-time passcodes required to sign in, along with account and security notices. These are account messages; we do not send marketing by text to agents.
Message frequency varies with how often you sign in. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Opting out will stop sign-in codes, which will prevent you from accessing your account until you contact us.
We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone, and we do not share them with third parties for marketing purposes.
How we use information
To operate the software, authenticate you, take payment, provide support, meet legal and insurance-regulatory obligations, and to detect and prevent abuse. We do not sell agent or consumer information.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the product: our hosting and database provider, Stripe for payments, our messaging and telephony provider for texts and calls, our email provider, and our calendar integration where you connect one. Each receives only what their function requires. We also disclose information where the law requires it.
How it is protected
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Particularly sensitive fields, such as insurance beneficiary details and stored provider credentials, are additionally encrypted at the application layer so they are unreadable in the database itself. Access to accounts requires a password and a one-time passcode sent to your mobile number, and access to data within the platform is enforced at the database level so one agent cannot reach another agent's records.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax and regulatory obligations. You may ask us to delete your account information, subject to those obligations.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing the address below. Consumers whose information an agent stores in the software should contact that agent, who controls it; we will help them respond.
Children
The software is for licensed insurance professionals and is not directed to children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, notify account holders directly.
